16th Century Building

At Shaw House, we’re spoilt for photo opportunities with three ceremony rooms steeped in historic details, each offering its own unique charm and perfect backdrop for your special day. The beautiful 16th-century building, rich with original features and set in picturesque grounds, offers great opportunities for capturing meaningful wedding photography.

For a small ceremony, the Register Office provides a cosy, personal space ideal for just you, your partner, and your two witnesses. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something simple and meaningful or if you’ve planned a larger celebration elsewhere but need to cover the legal side of things. Offering a variety of Wedding Packages, you can still capture those special moments of exchanging vows and rings in this beautiful setting. This space is available on Wednesday mornings, offering a simple, elegant ceremony focused on the legal essentials.

If want a larger space, the Ceremony Room holds up to 46 guests, allowing for a more personalised and longer ceremony. Here, the bride can walk down the aisle to music, and exchange extended vows, readings, and personal touches. This room is available on Fridays and Saturdays, providing a perfect balance between intimate and celebration.

For the larger wedding, the Great Hall is a photographer’s dream. With its long aisle and capacity for up to 100 guests, this grand room is ideal for larger gatherings and dramatic wedding photos. Imagine the shot of you walking down that aisle surrounded by the grandeur of this historic space. Available on Saturdays at 3pm (subject to availability), the Great Hall also offers the option to book a drinks reception to follow, giving you even more opportunities to capture the joy and excitement of your day. The team will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your unique love story.
